A Regular Day

There are those days that are so simple yet so full of joy, you never want to forget them. Today was just that. Andrew and I invited the girls onto our bed this morning, and there we cuddled and laughed and wrestled and talked for hours. Harper loves to eat her toes right now, so we all took turns seeing who could also bend that way (Spoiler alert: I am the ONLY one in the family who isn’t flexible enough to do it, but I think I’m ok with that). It was so silly and brought so many laughs. I’m glad I was able to capture a picture. Then we just talked. Grace loves going back and forth to ask questions about our favorite things. She also really likes playing “the animal game”, a variation of 20 questions where you describe your animal and everyone guesses.  Madelyn then wanted to jump on Andrew (no surprise there), and that soon turned into a tickle fight. Harper entertained us with her spit bubbles and rolley legs, and I soaked it all in. It was such a regular day, but my heart was full with love and joy. I think it’s these simple moments of connection that truly teach my kids how much we love them.
